A&M Consolidated softball team beats Rudder by run rule

Teammates wait to celebrate with A&M Consolidated's Cara West (right) as she makes the final step to home plate after homering against Rudder on Tuesday at Lady Tiger Field.

Sophomore Mackenzie Mitchell had a superb night for the A&M Consolidated softball team, blasting two homers and driving in six in an 11-1 win over Rudder in six innings Tuesday night at Lady Tiger field.

Mitchell was also inside the circle for all six innings, as Consol snapped a three-game losing streak and moved to 3-3 in District 18-5A games.

Lady Tigers coach Heather Slaton talked about the victory, winning after a long district layoff and the power display from Mitchell.
