Though he spends night and day thinking about the devastation from hurricanes, wildfires and pandemics, Chief Nim Kidd somehow remains calm and deliberative.

That is why Gov. Greg Abbott appointed him to serve as the state’s main disaster specialist and head of the Texas Division of Emergency Management. It also is why I am pleased to have him on my staff as Vice Chancellor for Disaster and Emergency Services.

I interviewed Chief Kidd for the latest episode of “COVID-19: The Texas A&M System Responds.” Please tune in to hear what he has to say and to see the coolest operator in world of disaster management.
