A 28-year-old Bryan woman has been arrested after authorities said she was driving while intoxicated with three young children in the vehicle.

According to College Station police, an officer was patrolling late Saturday in the 800 block of University Drive East when he saw a suspicious vehicle in a hotel parking lot. He pulled into the parking lot, and while the vehicle was no longer there, a witness said there had been a dispute and one of the people involved had gotten into a blue van.

While speaking with the witness, police said the van returned and was speeding through the parking lot. Police spoke with the driver, Olivia Ann Peynado, and noticed three small children were in the back seat.

While speaking with Peynado, police said an open container of an alcoholic beverage and two beers could be seen inside the van. After Peynado got out of the car, police said a bottle of what appeared to be an alcoholic beverage was on the driver’s side floor. A police report notes Peynado performed poorly on a field sobriety test, and a breath sample showed a blood alcohol content between 0.133 and 0.145.

She is charged with driving while intoxicated with a child under 15, a state jail felony punishable by up to two years in a state jail. She was being held in the Brazos County Jail on Sunday with bail set at $6,400.
