Baylor Street Stabbing

Authorities investigate a stabbing that occurred Friday afternoon in the 600 block of North Baylor in Bryan.

11:30 p.m.: 

Authorities said an altercation took place between the victim, identified as 33-year-old Jevel Kinney of Houston, and some of his family members. Kinney’s brother-in-law, identified as Deryl Deaussure Jackson Jr., 40, of Bryan, confronted him and stabbed him, police said.

Those with information on Jackson’s whereabouts are asked to contact police immediately. Residents are urged to not confront Jackson, as he should be considered armed and dangerous.

Bryan police are investigating a fatal stabbing that occurred Friday afternoon.

According to Bryan police, officers responded to the 600 block of North Baylor on the report of an aggravated assault. Authorities said a preliminary investigation shows a 33-year-old man was causing a disturbance and was stabbed by someone he knows. The person believed to have stabbed the man fled the area before police arrived, authorities said.

Authorities did not release the name of the victim.

Police believe this is an isolated incident and are continuing to investigate. Anyone with information is asked to call the Criminal Investigation Division at 979-209-5300 or Crime Stoppers at 979-775-8477.
