A Caldwell man has been arrested after a body believed to be that of an Arkansas man was found today, officials said.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Zachary Edward Evan Rockwell, 36, was last seen May 27, and was reported missing by family members on Sunday.

On Monday, the Burleson County Sheriff's Department, with the assistance of the Texas Rangers, discovered new information that led authorities to a location in the 1300 block of Tiger Lane, northwest of Caldwell. Authorities said a body believed to be Rockwell was discovered around 11 a.m. today.

Michael Leonard McFarlane, 35, of Caldwell, is charged with murder and tampering with physical evidence. He remains in the Burleson County Jail.

The body was sent to the Travis County Medical Examiner's Office to determine the cause of death and confirm Rockwell's identity.
