A Nacogdoches man has received a probated sentence after he was convicted by a jury on a sexual assault charge.

According to the Grimes County District Attorney’s Office, a jury found Christopher Blake Martin guilty of sexual assault in connection to a 2018 incident. Martin was eligible to spend up to 20 years in prison, which the county prosecutor argued for. Jurors decided that his sentence will be probated and he is mandated to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life, the DA’s office said. The duration of his probation has yet to be determined.

A press release states that Martin sexually assaulted a 20-year-old woman at a house party in Grimes County in January 2018.
