A Bryan man was arrested Friday after authorities said they found a large amount of cocaine in his car.
According to Bryan police, around 9:45 p.m. Friday, authorities stopped a car on 29th Street. The officer approached the driver, Hillman Davis Jr., 31, and noted he appeared to be nervous. A report states he made furtive moments, was visibly shaking and spoke with clenched teeth. An 8-year-old was in the back seat, police said.
According to a report, several empty plastic bags labeled with a cartoon symbol were visible in plain view, leading to a probable cause search. Authorities said more plastic bags were found, including some that contained powder cocaine. Cocaine was also found in an empty cigarette pack, police said.
Davis is charged with delivery of 6.9 grams of cocaine, a first-degree felony punishable by up to 99 years in prison, and a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia and not having a driver’s license.
He remains in the Brazos County Jail on $12,545 bond.
