Bryan police have charged a 19-year-old man with sexual assault after a woman reported being attacked while leaving her workplace early Monday.

Justin Warren Batten Jr. of Bryan remained in the Brazos County Jail Monday night with his bail set at $75,000.

Authorities said the woman was leaving work in the 2300 block of Boonville Road just after midnight when a man she didn’t know grabbed her, took her behind a nearby trash bin and sexually assaulted her.

Police arrested Batten without incident at a home on Water Well Road in Brazos County around noon Monday. Authorities did not say what linked Batten to the assault.

Sexual assault is a second-degree felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison.
