Law enforcement agencies and first responders from throughout the Brazos Valley will be participating Wednesday in a training exercise at Blinn College.
Organizers said about 200 people are expected to participate in the drill, which will start around 7 a.m. at the Blinn College campus in Bryan and last throughout the day.
Simulations during the exercise will include the firing of blank ammunition rounds, and officials ask that anyone not involved in the exercise avoid the campus on Wednesday.
Jennifer Taylor, Blinn’s assistant chief of police and emergency management director, said in a statement that the exercise is part of an effort to improve campus safety.
Participating agencies include the Blinn Police Department, Bryan and College Station police and fire departments, the Brazos County Sheriff’s Department, the Texas Department of Public Safety, the Texas Department of Emergency Management, the FBI, the Texas A&M University Police Department, Brazos County Emergency Management, Texas A&M University Emergency Management, Brazos County 911, the Brazos County Health Department, the city of Bryan Emergency Management, the city of Bryan fire marshals, the Brazos Valley Council of Governments, Baylor Scott & White, CHI St. Joseph and Washington County Emergency Management.
