Police said a 10-year-old boy was recovering early Friday after being hit by a car while on his bicycle.

Authorities said the boy was riding his bike in the 600 block of East 24th Street in Bryan around 6:45 p.m. Thursday when he was hit by a car driven by a 64-year-old College Station woman.

The boy suffered what police called incapacitating injuries, but he was in good condition at CHI St. Joseph in Bryan, according to a police department statement.

The woman was cited for failing to control speed.
