Bryan police officers on Sunday were looking for the person responsible for shooting a man Saturday night.

Authorities said a disturbance was reported just after 10 p.m. Saturday in the 800 block of East Pruitt Street. A responding officer heard gunshots and saw a crowd dispersing, officials said.

A 42-year-old man was found with an apparent gunshot wound, police said. He was taken to CHI St. Joseph Regional Health in Bryan with what police described as incapacitating injuries. His condition was not known Sunday, but police said he was stable.

Police said a man who sped away from the area in a vehicle was charged with two counts of evading in a vehicle.

The shooter had not been identified late Sunday, police said.
