The Cameron Police Department will host a fundraising barbecue cookoff Friday and Saturday.

The event includes music, food, drinks and activities for the whole family at Ledbetter Park in Cameron.

A margarita and chili contest is scheduled for Friday starting a 6 p.m., with the horseshoe tournament and the barbecue cookoff starting at 10 a.m. Saturday.

Funds raised will go toward police officer training, safety equipment and a scholarship for high school seniors who wish to pursue a career in law enforcement.
