A Centerville man was arrested Monday and accused of sexual crimes against children.

According to the Leon County Sheriff’s Office, Larry Wayne Guynes, 64, is charged with continuous sexual abuse against a child and one count of indecency with a child. He is the subject of an investigation by the sheriff’s office, the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force and the Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigative Division.

Continuous sexual abuse of a child is a first-degree felony punishable by life imprisonment or up to 99 years in prison. Indecency with a child is considered a third-degree felony — punishable by up to 10 years in prison — or a second-degree felony, punishable by up to 20 years in prison, depending on whether a suspect has made physical contact with a victim.

Guynes remains in the Leon County Jail on $235,000 bond.
