A 44-year-old College Station man was killed in an early morning accident Monday, according to Bryan police.

The overpass on Texas 6 at Old Reliance Road and Martin Luther King Street has reopened following the fatal accident, police said. 

According to police, a sport utility vehicle was traveling northbound on the highway when it left the roadway and struck a concrete pillar. 

The driver, identified as Ricardo Gonzalez, was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said. 

Police report that there were no other passengers in the vehicle and no other vehicles were involved.
