Police in College Station arrested a 22-year-old man after discovering him and two others fighting in the parking lot of Hurricane Harry's just after 2 a.m. Friday morning, authorities said.

According to a police report, Jon Thompson overheard one man jokingly call another a derogatory term, but believed it was directed at him. Police said Thompson confronted the two men, attempting to headbutt one man while he held a pocket knife behind his back.

One of the men stepped away to call police while Thompson and the other scuffled over the knife, according to the police report.

Thompson was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison and fine up to $10,000.

He remained in the Brazos County Jail Friday afternoon with bail set at $50,000.
