The College Station City Council will accept applications through March 17 from residents who want to serve on a committee that will review requests for city funding from "outside agencies."

Outside agencies include such varied groups as Twin City Mission, Keep Brazos Beautiful and the Brazos Valley Health District.

Organizations that receive hotel/motel occupancy taxes and those that have council members on their boards of directors will not be subject to the committee review process, according to the College Station public information office. They will, however, have to appear before the City Council to make funding requests.

Seven committee members will be appointed to serve three-year terms.
