A man was life-flighted to a Brazos Valley hospital Friday afternoon after a major collision in Burleson County near Lyons.

According to Snook Volunteer Fire Department Chief Jon Collins, first responders were dispatched to F.M. 60 just after noon on Friday, where a car and a tractor-trailer had collided. Firefighters with Snook VFD used tools to extract the male driver of the car. The man was life-flighted by helicopter to a nearby hospital. The driver of the tractor-trailer did not have serious injuries, but his truck had to be towed out of a ditch.

F.M. 60 was closed for several hours Friday but had been reopened by mid-afternoon. The condition of the injured man is unknown, Collins said late Friday.
