The E.A. Kemp High School Alumni and Former Students Association is holding its biennial reunion at the Hilton Conference Center in College Station June 19 through 22.

The high school was located in Bryan as a school for black students until its closing in 1971, when a court ordered immediate desegregation of city schools.

The reunion is held in conjunction with the annual Blues Festival and Juneteenth celebration, an African-American observance commemorating the announcement in Texas of the abolition of slavery.

Tickets for the reunion are $80, and those interested can contact Joyce Newton at 979-774-4086.
