The final two men out of a group of five Houston residents has been sentenced to prison in connection to a series of burglaries in Brazos County in 2017.

According to the Brazos County District Attorney’s Office, Trumaine Merritt, 24, was sentenced to 16 years in prison after pleading guilty to burglarizing several local businesses. Christopher Cigar, 24, pleaded guilty last month to the same charges and was sentenced to 12 years in prison.

In December 2017, Jumping World in Bryan, Willie’s Icehouse, Smitty K’s Sports Bar and Grill and Koppe Bridge were all burglarized by five masked men. During the burglary of Koppe Bridge, five men were arrested.

Deshawn Jarrell Webb, 20, was sentenced to four years in prison and Nigel Dwayne Luchin, 21, to six years in January. In March, Devante Louis Webb, 23, was sentenced to eight years in prison. Sentence lengths were determined by taking into consideration each man’s prior criminal history, officials said.

A press release from the district attorney’s office notes the men are believed to be connected to burglaries in Navasota as well.
