Kid-friendly films will be shown for free every Friday in June and July at The Queen Theatre in Downtown Bryan, starting next week.

Free Film Fridays kick off with Shrek on June 7 at 1:30 p.m.

Other films included in the lineup are Home, Madagascar, Penguins of Madagascar, Sing, Bee Movie, The Boss Baby and The Croods. All films will begin at 1:30 p.m.

"We know parents are looking for fun and inexpensive activities during the summer," said Jim Bob McKown, house manager at The Queen Theatre, in a press release Monday. "We are grateful to [Bryan Texas Utilities] for their community-minded partnership that allows everyone to enjoy these movies for free."
