A College Station man is facing a state felony drug charge after an undercover officer spotted him urinating in an alley behind a Northgate bar early Sunday, according to an arrest report.

The report said the officer was walking around The Foundation Room on the 100 block of College Main when Daniel Gannon Derfus was seen relieving himself in the alley behind the bar. The officer, who was in plain clothes, spoke to Derfus, who then gave the officer a fake ID, the report said.

During a search at the Brazos County Jail, Derfus, 20, was asked if he had anything illegal on him. According to jail staff, he told them there was a pill in his front pocket. The prescription medication was identified as Vyvanse, which is used to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.

Derfus was charged with possession of a controlled substance and presenting a fake ID, jail records show.

Derfus was released from jail Sunday morning after posting $9,000 bail.
