A new senior living community in College Station will have a grand opening ceremony Friday with a ribbon-cutting and tours.

The event at Langford Retirement Community will begin at 11 a.m. at 1851 Carroll Fancher Way, next to Christ United Methodist Church off Texas 6.

Officials with Methodist Retirement Communities said the $35 million facility features condo-style residences arranged in clusters, underground garage parking and easy walking access in any type of weather. There are multiple dining venues, a fitness center and wellness services.

The residences range from 1,150 square feet to 1,450 square feet.

The community is named after Ernest Langford, an Aggie architect who is considered one of the founding fathers of College Station.
