Former Texas A&M and current Tampa Bay Buccaneer wide receiver Mike Evans will host a celebrity bowling event today at Grand Station Entertainment, with proceeds benefiting the Mike Evans Family Foundation.

A&M football alumni Johnny Manziel, Damontre Moore and Ryan Swope are expected to attend the event that runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Mike Evans Foundation, founded in December 2017, provides college scholarships for high school students from low-income families, including students in the Bryan-College Station area.

In May of last year, during a celebrity basketball game hosted by Evans at College Station High School, five local high school seniors received a $2,000 scholarship from the foundation.

“I think, if you work hard, you should be able to go to college,” Evans said last year. “There’s a lot of kids that work hard and don’t have the means to go to college. I just want to give them the best head start that they can get.”

Evans has previously held events in Tampa Bay and his hometown of Galveston.

Individual tickets are $75 and include unlimited bowling and all-you-can-eat food and drinks. Tickets can be purchased though Evans’ website, Sponsorship packages are also available.
