San Marcos police have released more information on the capital murder charge against a Giddings man who was arrested in Bryan on Sunday on drug-related charges.
According to San Marcos authorities, Jon Hunter Jervis, 23, is accused of being involved in a slaying that took place June 5 at a San Marcos apartment complex known as the Village on Telluride. The slaying was recorded on a camera inside the apartment, police said.
Jervis and Lapear O’Neal Willrich, 25, who was arrested Wednesday in Giddings, are both recovering from gunshot wounds. San Marcos police said when Jervis was arrested outside a Bryan motel on Sunday, he was asleep in a cream-colored Cadillac Deville that was recorded at the apartment complex on the day of the slaying.
A Facebook post from San Marcos police on June 5 describes a shooting at The Village on Telluride in which Demarcus Trey Allen, 23, was found dead from multiple gunshot wounds. Police said Allen’s door had been kicked in during what appeared to be a burglary.
Jervis has been arrested locally six times, often on misdemeanor warrants.
He remains in the Brazos County Jail on $80,000 bond. A bond for the capital murder charge has not been set.
