The Texas A&M Corps of Cadets announced on Tuesday that the Parsons Mounted Cavalry will be riding in the 130th Rose Parade.

The parade starts at 8 a.m. Pacific time on Jan. 1, in Pasadena, California. The annual Rose Bowl game will be played later that day.

“We are thrilled that Parsons Mounted Cavalry has been extended an invitation to participate in such a prestigious event as the Rose Parade in Pasadena," said Brig. Gen. Joe Ramirez Jr., commandant of the Corps of Cadets, in a release. "This is a first for our Corps, and we are proud that PMC will represent the Corps of Cadets and Texas A&M University with pride and distinction in the Rose Parade.”

Parsons Mounted Cavalry will have 50 cadets and 40 horses and mules in the 5.5 mile parade route.
