A Bryan man was arrested early Sunday after authorities reported finding more than 150 Ecstasy pills, some of which he threw onto an elementary school’s property, they said.
According to Bryan police, Tristan Lamar Shivers, 29, was lying across steps on a sidewalk that is part of the property belonging to St. Joseph Elementary School around 3:30 a.m. Sunday. Police said Shivers seemed intoxicated and began gathering his things and said he was going to walk home. When an officer told him he left his phone, Shivers bent down, retrieved something from his pocket and threw it over the fence onto school property, a report notes.
Authorities detained Shivers, and reported finding a gram of marijuana during a search. Police said he had a small plastic bag containing several pills in his pocket. An officer jumped the fence onto school property and found another bag that contained numerous small pills. A large quantity of what police believe to be Ecstasy had scattered onto school grounds, a report notes. Authorities recovered 160 Ecstasy pills.
Shivers is charged with manufacture or delivery of Ecstasy, a first-degree felony punishable by up to 99 years in prison; and a misdemeanor charge of possession of marijuana in a drug-free zone. He remained in the Brazos County Jail Sunday night with his bail set at $16,000.
