A College Station man was arrested Monday after authorities say he broke into a woman’s home and beat her, eventually breaking her nose.

According to College Station police, authorities received a 911 call around 4:30 p.m. from a screaming woman who was calling from an apartment complex on Southwest Parkway. The call disconnected, and a second woman called, saying she saw a man beating a woman in the hallway of an apartment. When police arrived, the man was gone.

Officers found an apartment door had been kicked down and a lock of the victim’s hair was found, as well as a wallet belonging to Semaj Marquise Green, 23. The reported victim was found at a nearby apartment, blotting her bloody face with a towel. She was taken to a nearby hospital.

Authorities said the woman was treated for a broken nose, busted lip, a knot on her head and scratches to her neck. She told police that Green, whom she knows, was waiting at her apartment and followed her inside. He demanded to look through her phone, shoving her to the couch and ripping her purse from her hand, police said. He took the phone and left but returned 15 minutes later, when he kicked down the door and hit her more than a dozen times before kicking her in the back, a police report states.

Green is charged with burglary of a habitation, a second-degree felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison. He was released from the Brazos County Jail after posting $20,000 bail.
