Rocks: Earth's Majestic Building Blocks

Deborah Cowman, executive director of the Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History, looks Friday inside a glass case displaying specimens illustrating different properties of minerals. The museum's new exhibit, "Rocks: Earth's Majestic Building Blocks," which was designed by Museum Curator Rebecca Ingram, opened Friday, March 29, 2019, and runs through July 27. Rock and mineral specimens are from the museum's collection, the Houston Museum of Natural Science, Texas A&M University's Department of Geology and Geophysics and others.

The Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History's new exhibit, “Rocks: Earth’s Majestic Building Blocks,” honors the 100th anniversary of Grand Canyon National Park and will be on display through July 27.

Museum curator Rebecca Ingram designed the exhibit, which includes rare rock and mineral specimens.

The museum, at 3232 Briarcrest Drive in the Brazos Center in Bryan, is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
