Hundreds of athletes from across the state are in Bryan-College Station this weekend for the Special Olympics Texas Fall Classic.

More than 1,800 participants are scheduled to compete in bocce, softball and swimming events through Saturday. The events continue with a golf competition Oct. 19-21.

Events started on Thursday, and the official opening ceremony is tonight from 7 to 9 at College Station High School.
