A Texas A&M student from New Jersey has died as a result of vehicle accident that happened Saturday afternoon in central College Station, authorities said.

Three people were hospitalized after the two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Wellborn Road and Holleman Drive on Saturday. One of those, 22-year-old Texas A&M student Nathan Matos of New Jersey, died Sunday.

Police said Matos had been driving east on Holleman Drive just before 1 p.m. with a 22-year-old Texas A&M student from Dallas. Their vehicle was stopped at a traffic light, waiting to turn left onto Wellborn Road.

A vehicle being driven by another 22-year-old Texas A&M student from College Station was traveling south on Wellborn Road when it crashed into Matos’  vehicle, police said.

The second driver was treated and released from the hospital. Matos’ passenger remained hospitalized Sunday, officials said.
