Six people were arrested Monday at a Bryan motel after authorities said synthetic marijuana, Ecstasy and Xanax were found in a room.

According to Bryan police, early Monday officers were conducting a check of a motel on Texas 21. They noticed a woman leaving a room while holding something in her hand. Authorities spoke to the woman and found she had a small amount of synthetic marijuana, police said. She was arrested on a misdemeanor drug possession charge.

A search warrant was obtained for the room, and when police entered the sounds of a toilet flushing could be heard, a report notes. In the toilet bowl, police said, a leafy green substance and a cigarillo wrapper were found.

A report notes that a bucket in the bathroom held packages of synthetic marijuana, and in a backpack police said Xanax, Ecstasy, a digital scale, more synthetic marijuana and a wallet were found. A makeup bag also contained a digital scale, authorities said.

Three people were arrested on misdemeanor drug charges.

Devin Taylor Sustaita, 23, of Bryan, is charged with dealing synthetic marijuana, a first-degree felony punishable by up to 99 years in prison; and possession of Ecstasy, a state jail felony punishable by up to two years in a state jail. She also was arrested on two misdemeanor charges.

Joseph Alexander Carranza, 23, of Round Rock, is charged with tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison, and two drug-related misdemeanors.

Carranza remains in the Brazos County Jail on $12,340 bond, while Sustaita is being held on $65,340 bond.
