A 19-year-old has been arrested in connection to a robbery at a Madisonville store, authorities said.
According to Madisonville police, around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, a young man with a T-shirt covering his face and head entered a store in the 800 block of South May Street. The man, who had a handgun, attempted to reach over the front counter to gain access to a cash register. Police said the clerk grabbed the man’s hand and disarmed him. The man left the gun and T-shirt behind before fleeing.
On Tuesday afternoon, 19-year-old Da’Tavion McCarty was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony punishable by up to 99 years in prison.
Bond had not been set for McCarty late Tuesday.
