Sara shooting

College Station police investigate a shooting that killed a 19-year-old Saturday afternoon on Sara Drive.

A teenager in College Station has been killed after he was shot Saturday afternoon, officials said.

According to College Station police, officers were called to the 1800 block of Sara Drive at 3:20 p.m. Saturday on a gunshot call. Authorities arrived within four minutes of the call and secured a home on Sara Drive where the shooting occurred.

Additional officers responded to an area hospital, where 19-year-old Kolten Howell had been taken. Howell was pronounced dead at the hospital, authorities said.

Police believe the shooting was not random and do not believe there is a danger to the public. Authorities are continuing to investigate.
