No one was seriously injured Monday morning when a vehicle crashed into an office building in Downtown Bryan.

The vehicle drove into the office of the Brazos County Democratic Party on Main Street, according to a photo posted by local attorney TC Langford. The vehicle narrowly missed Raul Castillo, the lone volunteer working in the office Monday morning.

Castillo said he was sitting at his desk when he heard a crashing outside, and when he went to stand to investigate, the vehicle burst through the wall just a few feet away.

“I thought it was like a movie, it happened so fast,” Castillo said Monday afternoon. “I didn’t have time to be concerned or shocked. When I realized what happened, I realized I was OK, but then I was concerned about the people in the car.”

The driver wasn’t injured, Bryan Police Department spokeswoman Kelley McKethan said. A passenger in the vehicle received minor injuries, she said.

The driver accidentally hit the gas instead of the brakes, McKethan said.
