Tommy Langdon, 61, passed away in his home on Thursday, January 23. Funeral service is for 10 a.m. on Monday, January 27 at Austin’s Colony Church of Christ. His family will receive guests during visiting hours from 3 to 5 p.m., Sunday, January 26 at the funeral home. Elder Ned Walton will officiate. Interment will follow in Steep Hollow Cemetery. Services are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral Home.
Tommy was born to James and Nannie Ozell Murphey Langdon in Lubbock, Texas. He met and married the love of his life, Louise Haltom; they married on June 9, 1972. Together they raised their children in a home of unconditional love. Tommy worked as a residential appraiser with the Brazos County Appraisal District. He retired in 2005. Tommy enjoyed working with leather as well as working with wood, making furniture. He had various other interests. His three grandchildren were “his heart and soul”. In addition to being a family man, Tommy served and loved his church. He was a deacon for many years. He served and was a member of the Church of Christ all of his life.
Preceding him in death are his parents, J.D. and Ozell Langdon; his sisters, Bonnie Jackson, Shirley Knight and grandson, Caden James Langdon.
His survivors include his wife, of 41 years, Louise Langdon; his sons, Thomas Wayne Langdon, Christopher James Langdon and his wife Linda; his brothers, James Langdon and wife Patsy, of Victoria, TX and Charles Langdon and wife Peggy; his sister, Judy Olexey and husband John; his three grandchildren Makayla, Merrick and Addison Langdon; his numerous nieces and nephews and loved ones.
