Loretta Vacante Luna, 59, passed away Tuesday January 14, 2014 at her home in Navasota, Texas. Visitation will be from 6 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. Thursday, January 16th at Memorial Funeral Chapel, 2901 Texas Avenue South in College Station. A Rosary will be recited at 7:30 P.M. at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 1 P.M. Friday, January 17, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bryan with Reverend Monsignor John McCaffrey officiating. Interment will follow at College Station City Cemetery.
Loretta was born March 27, 1954 to Rosalie Patranella and Frank Vacante, Sr. in Brazos County, Texas. She met and married her true love, Robert E. Luna on October 14, 1989. They enjoyed riding their Harley, especially traveling and meeting others while spending time together.
She was a lifetime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bryan. She worked for several years as a secretary for TEEKS at Texas A&M University. She loved all of her grandchildren and especially treasured the moments she spent with Brian and Aaron. She also loved outings with her mom and sisters, especially shopping.
Loretta was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Robert February 5, 2007.
She is survived by two sons, Thomas Narvarro II and his wife Barbara of Bryan and Steve and Melissa Navarro of Sedallia, Mo.; one brother, Frank Vacante, Jr. and his wife Michelle; three sisters, Lucille Hilley, Marilyn Hilley and her husband Charles, and Sandra Gilbert and her husband Steve all of Navasota; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous other family and friends.
