Dennis James Mushinski, 64, of Hearne, was lifted into the arms of God on September 28, 2019, in Bryan. A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, with the Rosary recited at 6:30pm, Thursday, October 3, 2019, at Callaway-Jones Funeral Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am, Friday, October 4, 2019, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Rev. Msgr. McCaffrey, presiding. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, in Bremond. Services are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Centers, Bryan-College Station.

Dennis Mushinski was born on June 24, 1955, in Rockdale, Texas. The youngest of three children of Kie and Willie Mae Wilganowski Mushinski. He graduated from Hearne High School with honors and later received his Associates degree from Blinn College. Dennis always had a charismatic charm about him. From early childhood, he was known as a true southern gentleman, a real cowboy. Dennis was diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer on August 11thand immediately went to work assembling his 'team' because he was going to beat this disease.

Dennis retired from the Union Pacific Railroad as a conductor and pursued his passion, cattle ranching. Dennis was a true volunteer and would help whenever asked, he supported many non-profit organizations, he was a founding member of the American Cancer Society Cattle Barons Ball Brazos Valley, board member of the Bison Festival, volunteer for the VFW Post 4692 and the American Heart Association. Dennis was known for taking care of other people, being considerate for others was his trademark. Dennis was a member of the Booger County Cook Off team and participated in many IBCA and Lone Star sanctioned cook offs.

He married his best friend and soulmate Debi Schuler Mushinski on May 21, 1994. They celebrated 25 years of marriage this summer with a trip to Germany. Dennis was very much part of the lives of his children and grandchildren encouraging them to become the best in all their success in life. Dennis was the truest friend anyone could ask for, he was the kind of man that did not judge others and accepted you for who you were. He was a happy and honest man, a true gentlemen and a friend to all who met him.

His parents, nephew Troy Jr. and brother-in-law Ron Wilson precede him in death.

He is survived by his wife, Debi Mushinski; daughter, Krista Mushinski; sons James and wife Eleanor Schuler, Michael and wife Devon Schuler, and Sparky and wife Holly Schuler. Brother Kie Mushiski Jr., and wife Donna, sister Bobby McDonald, brother-in-law Bill Wilson and wife Lana. His grandchildren, Kristen, Kallie, Kolton, Bailey, Mason, Reese, and another grandbaby on the way, as well as a great-grandbaby on the way. Nieces Koda Podaras and husband Perry, Jessica and husband JR Ramirez, and Angelina Wilson, nephews Troy McDonald, Sr., Bo Mushinski and wife Lexi, Ron Wilson and Don Wilson.. Great nieces Jessica and Isabella, great nephews Gavin, Kie and Charlie and his lifelong friend Luke Collette. Dennis will also be missed by numerous relatives and close friends and his fur baby Poochka.
