Ervin Fritz Wieghat, age 86, of Bedias, died Friday, January 3, 2014 at his home. Funeral services will be Monday, January 6, 2014, 10:00 a.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church of North Zulch, with pastor Randall Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Bedias Methodist Cemetery. A visitation is set for Sunday, January 5, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the church.
Ervin Fritz Wieghat was born on November 27, 1927, in Bedias, Texas, to Henry R. Wieghat and Finke Wieghat, both deceased.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mae Ola Haarmeyer Wieghat, of Bedias; sons, Ervin Wayne Wieghat and wife Edwina and Jerry Don Wieghat and wife Nina, all of Magnolia; daughter, Diane Juarez and husband Frank. Of Brenham, Margaret Conn and husband, Dennis of Houston, Texas; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers, Billy Wieghat and wife Judy, of Flynn and Henry Wieghat of Conroe; sister, Allyne Emshoff and husband, Erwin, of Brenham.
Ervin was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and a member of the American Legion and a veteran of the U.S. Army WWII.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Robert Fred Wieghat; daughters, Sandra Faye Wieghat and Dorothy Kollmorgan; brothers, Lonnie and Melvin Wieghat and a sister, Malinda Newman.
Pallbearers are Tony Atzenhoffer, Jerry Wade Wedgeworth, Doyce Wayne Wedgeworth, Allen Morris, Victor Andrade and Melvin Wiley.
Southern Heritage Funeral Home of Bedias is in charge of the arrangements.
