Welcome, Sandra Cisneros, to Bryan-College Station, a community that for several months has been reading and discussing your fine book, The House on Mango Street. We look forward to hearing you discuss and read from your book at 7:30 p.m. today in Bryan Civic Auditorium.

Tonight's gathering is open to the public at no charge. Copies of the book will be available for sale in the auditorium lobby beginning at 6:30 p.m. Cisneros will autograph copies of the book following her presentation, during a reception in her honor.

The House on Mango Street is the second in the annual selection of Brazos Valley Reads, a project of the Texas A&M English department and others to encourage area residents to read and discuss a book with themes pertinent to the area.

If you haven't read the book, come early tonight, pick up a copy and listen to Sandra Cisneros talk about it. Then, you'll have something to look forward to reading in the coming days.
