Everyone, even the poor, is entitled to health care
The letter about Venezuela (Eagle. Aug. 21) as an example of countries with government programs for everyone ignores the vast number of European countries that have retirement and health care programs for everyone. Relative to Americans, their citizens all live longer, pay about half as much as we do for health care, are happier.
Venezuela like Switzerland and Taiwan ignored us and went to national health care and the Conservative party that opposed going to it, now favors it.
I believe that everyone is entitled to health care, even the poor.
