A Bryan man has been arrested after authorities said he discharged a gun in his apartment building in March and kicked a woman Monday.
According to College Station police, authorities responded to an apartment complex on Decatur Drive on March 10 after receiving reports from two concerned residents. Police spoke to 27-year-old Casey Aaron Meehl and asked him about bullet holes in his apartment unit’s exterior. Meehl told authorities he had drank wine and took a sleeping pill and fell asleep. When he woke up, he noticed bullet holes in his back door, but did not remember firing the shots and could not find any casings.
Authorities said someone had shot through the glass window of a back door several times, and the bullets traveled through a fence and into the parking lot. A handgun and several spent casings were found on the kitchen counter, a report notes.
On Monday, a woman said she and Meehl had an argument at a home in Bryan and that he kicked her in the back.
Meehl was arrested on a warrant of deadly conduct by discharging a firearm, a third-degree felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison, and a misdemeanor assault charge. He remains in the Brazos County Jail on $75,000 bond.
