EDINBURG, Va. (AP) — Shenandoah Telecommunications Co. (SHEN) on Thursday reported first-quarter net income of $13.9 million.

On a per-share basis, the Edinburg, Virginia-based company said it had profit of 28 cents.

The telecommunications service provider in parts of Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia posted revenue of $158.8 million in the period, missing Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $164 million.

Shenandoah Telecom shares have decreased 6% since the beginning of the year. The stock has climbed 31% in the last 12 months.
