Former Texas A&M All-American Fred Kerley finished third in the men’s 400 meters at the IAAF World Championships on Friday at Khalifa International Stadium.

The Bahamas’ Steven Gardiner won in 43.48 seconds, while Colombia’s Anthony Zambrano took second in 44.15. Kerley earned the bronz medal in 44.17.

Three A&M alums are part of 4x400 relay pools for Saturday’s semifinals, including Kerley and Jessica Beard for the United States and Trinidad & Tobago’s Deon Lendore. The women’s 4x400 semifinal will start at 11:55 a.m. followed by the men’s at 12:25 p.m. The finals are set for Sunday.
