Lance Harvell and Jeff Christy have been hired as assistant baseball coaches at Nebraska by newly hired head coach Will Bolt, a former Texas A&M assistant.

Harvell, who played quarterback and was a catcher at A&M Consolidated, will be the Cornhuskers’ hitting coach and recruiting coordinator. Harvell spent the last five seasons at Sam Houston State as an assistant and recruiting coordinator. Harvell was a graduate assistant at A&M in 2008-09 and was a walk-on at A&M in 2005-06. He earned a bachelor’s degree from A&M in ’06 and a master’s degree in ’09.

Christy, who was a volunteer assistant at A&M for the last two seasons, will be Nebraska’s pitching coach.

Waiting with some curiosity on who Coach Childress will hire to replace Will Bolt. We've heard about Bolt's hires and the Aggie softball team's new volunteer assistant, but nothing from baseball. Curious. Sure hope it's someone who knows something about hitting and base running. Wouldn't that be a breath of fresh air . . .
