WACO — Auburn’s Yu Chen defeated Texas A&M’s Dorthea Faa-Hviding 6-1, 6-1 in the final of the main draw at the H-E-B Invitational on Sunday.

At the ITA Women’s All-American Championship in Tulsa, Georgia’s Morgan Coppoc defeated A&M’s Tatiana Makarova 4-6, 6-1, 6-2. The 112nd-ranked Makarova is third on the lucky losers’ list to potentially receive a spot in Monday’s qualifying draw.

A&M’s No. 58-ranked Jayci Goldsmith will face No. 104 Jessica Livianu of St. John’s in singles Monday. In the doubles draw, A&M’s Renee McBryde and Katya Townsend will play Kansas State’s Karine-Marion Job and Maria Linares and A&M’s Riley McQuaid and Lucia Quiterio will face Jaeda Daniel and Adriana Reami.
