The Brazos Christian Eagles scored five touchdowns in the second half to break open a close game and defeat the Woodlands Legacy Prep Lions 62-32 in TAPPS Division IV, District 4 play Friday.

The Hancock brothers helped Brazos Christian (7-3, 3-1) build on a 28-18 halftime lead as Levin Hancock returned the second-half kickoff 62 yards for a touchdown and Grant Hancock scored on a 2-yard run. The Eagles made it 48-18 on Hayden Tillery’s 20-yard touchdown catch.

Brazos Christian quarterback Bryce Steel, one of seven honored on Senior Night, threw for 395 yards and five touchdowns by completing 27 of 40. He also scored on a 6-yard run. Senior Jacob Smith had 11 catches for 186 yards with a touchdown and senior Trevor Collins added eight catches for 114 yards and two scores. Other senior contributors were Grant Hancock (16 carries-108 yards, 2 TDs), Jax Bacak (eight extra points), two-way lineman Hudson Holcombe and Cody Clark (four tackles and three pressures in first game back after missing four with an injury).

Sophomore Harris Powers had 12 tackles, two of them for losses.
