Three of the four football players who transferred from Bryan to College Station schools in January are back with the Vikings.
Juniors Christian Richardson, Gary Lynch and Jacorrius Lynch re-enrolled at Bryan on Thursday, athletic director Lance Angel confirmed. He said they will be eligible to play sports immediately.
“We’re glad that these young men are with us, and I believe their teammates are excited,” Angel said. “We’re ready to move forward, and we’re excited for next fall.”
Wide receiver Gary Lynch and defensive back Jacorrius Lynch had transferred to A&M Consolidated, and running back/defensive back Richardson had transferred to College Station.
Junior quarterback Kerry Brooks, the fourth transfer student, will stay at Consol. The UIL executive committee determined he would be eligible at Consol, Angel said.
The committee heard the players’ appeals on March 12 after the respective district executive committees for District 10-5A Division II and 8-5A-I had denied all four sports eligibility at their transfer schools in February.
“They obviously take this case by case and determined that [Brooks] would be eligible,” Angel said.
