The College Station boys and girls will compete in the UIL state championships Saturday at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock. The girls will run at 1:10 p.m. and the boys at 1:50. This will be the boys ninth straight trip to state.

The College Station boys finished second at the Region III meet behind Cedar Park. The Lady Cougars were third behind Cedar Park and Georgetown.

Running for the girls will be seniors Paola Calderon, Avery Seagraves and Grace Wu; sophomore Esther Tong; and freshmen Maddie Jones, Faith Redwine and Megan Roberts. Jones finished 10th at regionals in 19 minutes, 33.9 seconds. Running for the boys will be seniors Joseph Benn, Siddharth Jayaraman and Karl Lindahl; junior Chance Miller; sophomores Andrew Reichmann and Luke Hull; and freshman Ricardo Lopez. Benn was fourth at regionals (16:30:9) and Jayaraman eighth (16:37.9).

The CS boys finished 11th at state last year with Jayaraman 39th (16:06.47), Benn 45th (16:11.65), Reichmann 94th (16:49.84) and Lindahl 110th (17:03.32).
