The Texas A&M women’s tennis team will host the ITA Texas Region Championships from Thursday through Monday at the George P. Mitchell Tennis Center. Admission is free.

A&M’s four doubles teams earned first-round byes along with No. 28 Katya Townsend, No. 58 Jayci Goldsmith, No. 112 Tatiana Makarova, Jessica Anzo and Lucia Quiterio in singles.

A&M’s Dorthea Faa-Hviding will play Incarnate Word’s Sophia Kermet in the first round, while Renee McBryde will face Abilene Christian’s Illeana Mocciola, and Riley McQuaid will play Sam Houston State’s Stevie Ybarra at 9:30 a.m. Thursday.

The singles finalists and winning doubles team will advance to the Oracle ITA National Fall Championships set for Nov. 7-11 in Surprise, Arizona.
