Texas A&M soccer senior Briana Alston was named the SEC Defensive Player of the Week following the No. 17 Aggies’ 1-0-1 weekend, the conference announced Monday.

With the A&M back line short-handed with injuries, Alston played all 200 minutes over both matches at center back, anchoring a unit that allowed just five shots on goal in a 1-1 draw against Alabama and a 1-0 win over Auburn.

A&M (10-2-3, 4-1-1) will host 13th-ranked Arkansas at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Ellis Field.
